Hello Honey, it's me What did you think when you heard me back on the radio? What did the kids say when they knew it was their long lost daddy-o? Lyrics Depot is your source of lyrics to Wold by Harry Chapin. Please check back for more Harry Chapin lyrics. Wold Lyrics Artist: Harry Chapin. Songs with a radio reference often had their lyrics changed to plug the local station's call letters. KHJ was especially fond of this tactic -- it's odd that that was left in this transcription of the lyrics.

It was also one of America's most formidable Top 40 radio stations in the s and s as 93 KHJ before changing its На Берегу Безымянной Реки - Наутилус Помпилиус* - Наутилус Помпилиус in Many of the biggest DJs got their start there. It was and is the legendary "Boss Radio", started in the mid 60's thru the mid 70's. It was the starting place for many DJs. KRTH the FM version and an oldies station reassembled the "Boss Jocks" in the 90's playing the same music they played 20 years before on "Boss Radio", with the same dialogue, talk about flash backs!

Just found it in i tunes Better than i remember and yes, there are tears - Outstanding. A great song like cats in the cradle. The songs brings tears to my eyes, because it's about a guy who realises his life's dream to be a DJ and loses everything in his life in the process He can't seem to cast away his troubles and perhaps one of the most revealing lines about his troubled mind set is "sometimes WOLD - Harry Chapin - WOLD get this crazy dream I just take off in my car, but you can travel on 10, miles and still stay where you are".

Harry Chapin, a life cut short, what an amazing man. This is among them. Like, say NY Sadly the lyrics of this song are just like my own experience.

The station "WOLD" was clearly deliberate. I read somewhere that Harry Chapin was killed in an auto accident on his way to perform somewhere.

The details of the accident were never really known, although Chapin was reputedly a notoriously poor driver. That must have been recorded where KHJ sponsored the show. In the original version the chorus never changes. When I was a DJ in my early 20's this song use to scare me as a sad look into WOLD - Harry Chapin - WOLD future, but I loved the song and I still do.

I knew some of those people who never hit the big time and were still big fish in small ponds well past the time they were ever going to get that big gig they always thought was coming. I got out of the business in my mid 20's, but this song still makes me shiver when I hear it. Thank -you Harry Chapin!! WIXY in Cleveland. I've loved this and 'Cat's in the Cradle' for many years. Harry Chapin. It's a shame the kids today don't know much about Harry Chapin because his songs are so long but great.

It's worth visiting the site. I was taken back by the fact he died driving a VW Rabbit. He lived modestly and gave away much of his money. I saw him 4 times the previous year. Many of his concerts were performed free of charge by him with the admittance fee to go to the WOLD - Harry Chapin - WOLD non-profit organization.

I left when they wanted to put me in the "rock jock" spot, and i realized that it wasn't fit Promises, Promises - Norma Jean - Body And Mind for a grownup.

This song has always haunted me with it's perceptiveness and honesty. His band was snowed in some place that night and he had to do the show by himself and was just fabulous.

I had a wonderfully talented friend who got lost in being a top jock in a medium market. He eventually drifted from station to station and died alone and way too young as a result of his drinking. RIP pal. His music is fantastic and inspiring. Thanks Harry, we'll miss you. That fiendish FZ It will be beneficial to everyone who employess it, including myself. Keep up the good work for sure i will check out more posts. FM They're playin' songs that don't get on the air anymore.
